ATTENTION LANDOWNERS
If you are interested in having your land checked for gold, please read the following statement and send me a comment or e-mail and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Hello everyone, my name is Ray Mills and one of my favorite pastimes is research. While researching for places to detect in Northern California I frequently come across old mining sites or possible patch hunting ground that is located on private property. I decided a long time ago to just be honest with people and approach them face to face for permission to detect on their property. I really do not like using a phone for this contact. I prefer to meet people and talk to them at that point. I like to let them know what history has possibly taken place on their property and geologically what the property could possibly offer in the way of electronic prospecting for gold. There may be a chance that a day or week of relic hunting might be in order. I give all relics to the landowner. I also prefer to have all the owners, husband and wife, or family members be present at a meeting.
What I have done in the past when prospecting for gold is to offer the owners involved a straight out fifty per-cent of whatever I find. For example, if I am out detecting for a day and I find several pennyweights of gold on the property, then at the end of that day I will take all the gold to the owners. The landowners will hold onto the gold. Over a period of time, say when one or two ounces has been accumulated, a vial is full, we will make the time to do a final weight and determine what the fifty/fifty split will be. I normally let the landowner pick out the pieces they want as close to the determined weight split as possible. I get the other fifty per-cent of the gold. I have done this over and over and all parties are usually very happy with it. They are getting gold off their land that they may not have even known was there and I am permitted to enter private property without having to look over my shoulder. Many times, I am given a key or combination to a lock, or a code to enter the land at will. I have formed many friendships by being up front with people. Some of the tracts of land that I detect on are very large and I try to let the landowners know of any problems or issues that I might have come upon while out detecting, a fence line down, signs of trespassing or unauthorized wood cutting.
There are many times when the landowners wanted to get their own detector and detect with me. There have been a few times when the landowner saw that first nugget and I was relieved of any permissions that I may have had to detect on their land. This has only happened twice so far in the last twenty years. Most of the landowners after seeing what I go through are satisfied that they do not want to be involved with the actual gold detecting and are happy to see me walking up the driveway with some nuggets in my hand to let them hold onto till the split. I have thousands of acres in which to detect on by being up front with people.
I do not charge anyone to be able to detect on their property nor do I charge anyone to evaluate a piece of property by use of a gold detector. It's all fun to me in the long run and if I am able to get some gold out of the deal then that is even better.
I will make this statement; I am not a school trained geologist, nor have I had any classes on geology. I do know the patterns and scenarios in which the gold was laid out in this part of Shasta County, California. My experience comes from successfully detecting this area for over twenty years and "being one with the dirt".
Thanks, TRINITYAU/RAYMILLS

LANDOWNERS, IF YOU HAVE TRACTS OF LAND SIMILAR IN APPEARANCE TO THE THREE PHOTOS ABOVE YOU MAY HAVE GOLD ON YOUR PROPERTY, GIVE ME A CALL AND WE CAN TALK...
Look at the pictures that are on the "Detecting for Gold, areas to look for..." page, they may also help in identifying areas that may have been mined in the past.

Maybe we can find a nice pendant nugget or a set of earrings for a loved one or yourself. You might even get the gold bug yourself and decide to hunt your own land. There is still detectable gold left in Shasta County and it may be right under your feet. Contact me...
